Drawing from Movies: “James and the Giant Peach”
August 2 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Small Doll Productions’ drawing events are for artists of ALL stages and crafty folks to work on films, draw from the film, or learn something new for free while watching an awesome/hopefully inspiring film!
“James & The Giant Peach” is a 1996 musical animated fantasy film directed by Henry Selick. It was produced by Tim Burton and Denise Di Novi, and starred Paul Terry as James. The film is a combination of live action and stop-motion animation. Shadow puppet pre-prepared kits and air clay (for stop motion fun) will be provided to all who attend. Want to learn more about shadow puppets or stop motion? Come talk to us at the end of the film!
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Make sure to come early in time to grab some food and drinks and mingle. Then head upstairs, select your drawing utensils, puppet kits, etc and draw/create to your heart’s content! You can let the movie inspire you or doodle whatever is on your mind. This event is for artists of all stages of their art journey! Small Doll will be providing paper, crayons, markers, pencils & pens or you can bring your own utensils. We only ask that you avoid bringing loose paint or wet clay. Laptops and Drawing Pads with headphones are also fine for our digital artists!
We hope to see you there! For more information or if you’re interested in submitting a film/art piece to a Small Doll Festival this upcoming October; please email smalldollproductions@gmail.com or dm @smalldollproductions
