About the Artists:
Julien Chang (IG: @julienchangmusic): Julien Chang, is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Baltimore, who writes music that tunnels toward a series of deeper truths, investigating everyday existentialism, love and life, art and the artist. He released his new EP, Home For The Moment – a collection of four songs – on March 1. Having already released two critically acclaimed albums, 2019’s debut, Jules, and 2022’s The Sale, Julien has set a precedent for his breezy, dreamlike sound and vast, ethereal instrumentation. Performed, composed, and produced by Julien, Home For the Moment adds to his impressive collection of self-made records. His songs have been championed by Annie Mac at BBC Radio One, Elton John on his Rocket Hour show on Apple Music radio and featured in Spotify’s New Music Friday and Fresh Finds playlists.
Maya Keren & Careful in the Sun (IG: @mayakerenmaya): Brooklyn-based Careful In The Sun traverses a verdant landscape of improvisation grounded in loops and songs by Maya Keren. The collective (Eliza Salem on drums, Anna Abondolo on fretless bass and voice, Emmanuel Michael on electric guitar, and Maya Keren on piano and voice) finds their center in lush harmonies and cathartic hooks underlaid with the strange and spontaneous logic of dreams. The collective is currently on their spring tour.
Nico Wohl (IG: @nico.wohl): Nico Wohl is a guitarist and composer from Great Barrington, Massachusetts. He was a member of Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz and toured Europe with Dianne Reeves in 2018 and China with Kurt Elling in 2019. He is also a 2019 Youngarts finalist in jazz. Since 2019, he has attended the Peabody Conservatory, where he studies with guitarist Matthew Stevens. He is mainly influenced by jazz but takes cues from Brazilian and classical music, among other styles.
