Caribbean Cinema: Christmas Cortos (Short Films)

Starting this December at Old Major is a recurring film series spotlighting rare films from the Caribbean. Introducing CARIBBEAN CINEMA — a BoriCine presentation.
On December 18, there will be a shorts program pulled from the División de Educación de la Comunidad — a Puerto Rican government entity that created audiovisual and literary materials for the “greater education” of the Puerto Rican-American citizen. The list of films are:
Cantares de Navidad (1954) Regalo de Reyes (1955, Fernando Bezares II) Parranda Campesina (1958, Amílcar Tirado) La tuna de Comerio (1964, Luis A. Maisonet) Festival Navideño (1966)Come and learn about Puerto Rican cinema and Christmas traditions with these unique shorts! All shorts will have English subtitles, a rarity for DIVEDCO screenings.
Doors are at 6 pm, film program starts at 8. You must purchase items to eat or drink for admission into the film program.
